The Department of Mass Communication and Videography along with the Department of Journalism organised a Social Outreach Programme where the students and the faculty divided themselves into two different groups: one went to the home for the aged, while the other went to meet the children in the orphanage.
The faculty and the students spent quality time in the “Ark of Hope”, an old age home in Candolim, with the spirited & enthusiastic 23 ‘young’ ladies on December 20, 2014. Where they sang, danced & brought a smile on the faces of these elderly ladies. Keeping in mind the spirit of Christmas, the students organised a small programme which had carol singing and games organised for the elderly ladies. Indeed, a fruitful day which nobody will forget.
The second group went to Sr. Christobel Trust (Mother Teresa’s Roses) Muddavaddo, Parra on December 24, 2014, where they were all set to light up a smile among the tiny tots. This time spending a couple of hours with these kids was indeed the most beautiful experience for the faculty & students alike.
Here, we learnt an important lesson: True happiness lies in ‘Giving’ not just gifts but more importantly your time.
