The Department of Mass Communication & Videography organised an interactive sessionwith Sonia Filinto, the director of the documentary film ‘Shifting Sands’. This session started with the screening of her movie, ‘Shifting Sands‘. The documentary explores the life of the fishing community in Calangute, a popular tourist village in Goa, India. Film gave a voice to community members – how they perceive themselves, their trade and the constantly changing life around them.
Followed by, there was interactive session where the students asked Filinto questions on different type of documentary styles that she used in her film and pros and cons of documentary filmmaking in general.
